Short but Sweet Tonight

So this morning after another sleepless night I really didn’t feel very well at all, everything was such an effort. I called mom this thing and she was worried but she is back down tomorrow and I’m looking forward to that. I had a call from the hospital to say that I wasn’t doing as well as I should be in terms of fighting off this infection and whilst the intravenous drugs being given to me at home every day were due to stop tomorrow I have to continue the treatment for another week. This will possibly delay me starting chemo again but I have to be strong enough to be able to cope with that so I have to be guided by the experts.

Just before treatment started the wonderful Emma from my BHS family in Kingston came to see me. She stayed and helped me set up Daisy Den, well we made a bloody good start. It was so lovely to be with her again and we had a lovely time.

Now these are only the first photos and I need shelves for all my Daisy Den gifts but at least it’s the first chance for you to see inside Daisy Den. It’s so warm and cosy in there and I’m going to love it. Molly Moo already does LOL.

Me and the wonderful Emma :-)

Now tomorrow we will have our allocation of the Calendars arriving, I’m so excited as Steve and I haven’t seen them yet. I’m so proud of what Steve has achieved through this and we will potentially raise £14,000 for Beating Bowel Cancer.  I also have to thank my BHS Family as without them funding the print run the profit to the charity would have been reduced so thank you so much BHS XX

So that’s you lot up to date for today, again sorry it’s short but it’s sweet and I need to rest. Love to you all xx

Married to Steve, I have two children - Rebecca and Richard. Steve has two children, Lauren and Chris. Rebecca lives with us (nurse Rebecca) and my mom Judy also has become nurse and housekeeper but lives in the West Midlands. My son is in the Army and comes home when he can. I am 47, born in 1967 and I was told I had bowel cancer on 22nd Feb 2015 and this blog is my journey through it. I hope it helps you as you were the reason I started it.

    1. Hi Tracey,
Sorry for the late reply as I didn’t know that I had missed the comments left on this post, I must have been ill hey.
Anyway it’s so beautiful and just perfect, I can’t tell you how shocked and overwhelmed I was by your thoughtfulness, just fantastic.
Thank you so much and the whole family were shocked too, well Richard hasn’t seen it yet and as an Army man he will just say something like ‘cool’ men don’t get soft furnishing at all do they lol.
Thanks again and sending you lots of love xx

  4. I’m not surprised you’re tired, your body is doing all it can to fight off the infection and even at the best of times, antibiotics make most of us feel a bit off and yours is the super-duper-double-strength-shot-in -your-arm type. So just take life VERY gently and be kind to yourself.

Daisy Den looks lovely inside. I hope Steve’s faster at putting up shelves than Ian, lol! It’d take him years to summon up the mental energy. Too much Latin and not enough Woodwork at school – it marks a man! Mind you, I can’t speak, too much Latin and very little domestic usefulness, just 40 mins a week sewing, no cookery at school but 80 mins Latin! And in sewing I learnt Really Useful Things like how to sew a blanket patch. Now how may times have you personally patched a blanket?!

Sorry the weather is so awful, it’s my fault. We are off to complete the country section of the Thames Path so it’s three days of soggy fields for me this weekend!

Let us know when It is in BHS Wycombe ‘cos I want one for each of my relatives. I shall be able to say that I personally know two of the stars 🙂

Look after yourself, remember you want to stay at home…. xxxxxxxxxx

    1. Hi Teresa,
How many Calendars do you want for is signing? It’s just getting them to you. Or you could get them from here. Let me know what you want to do. xx

  7. Sending Positive thought so you can rest. Hope it works but if you can’t sleep get ya ipod out and abuse your ears with something that makes you relax, not your usual library but something out of character ( think yowm a rocka ). Perhaps you could ask your followers what music has moved them most and give it a go. My choice would be Christina Aguilera ” I’m ok ”
Something to go with that wonderful den…. posh or wot. ….

Don’t forget reserve me a calender
    Colin
