My name is Wendy Guy and I’m married to Steve, I have two children – Rebecca and Richard. Steve has two children, Lauren and Chris. We live in High Wycombe.
Rebecca lives with us (nurse Rebecca) and my mom Judy, lives in the Midlands where I grew up. She has also become nurse and housekeeper throughout my illness. My son is in the Army and comes home when he can.
I am 48, born in 1967 and I was told I had bowel cancer on 22nd Feb 2015. It’s now August and I’m stage 4 with no cure. My life in a few months has changed forever and this blog was started to help others through their journey, to educate people, to offer guidance to supporters who nurse loved ones and to leave a trail of hope, understanding and love for you all. Hi Wendy. At last Ian’s told me about your blog and where to find it. You make me feel VERY humble as I’ve been muttering about my pills which just make me feel a little low and have hot flushes that last 3 hours lol! Have to confess I’ve temporarily stopped til I see the Big Cheese. I know you don’t feel brave, but you really are. I think about you a lot and you’re always in my prayers. Have you been assigned a MacMillan nurse? They can be very helpful. I follow them on FB and also Cancer Research UK as they give us all hope.

Hi Hilary, good to hear from you and I hope you are okay. I’m at the hospice on Monday for help so I’ll see where that leads. 3 am can be very lonely hey 🙁 but I hope that it will start to get easier now. Take care xx
